The Gallagher S12 is a compact, portable solar electric fence energiser designed to make strip grazing and temporary livestock control easier. Its internal lithium iron phosphate battery, integrated solar panel and built-in post earthing create a simple self-contained fencing solution.

Gallagher recommends the S12 for approximately 0.4km of multiwire fencing. A clean fence operating under ideal conditions may reach up to 1.2km.

Portable Fencing Made Easier

Built-In Post Earthing

When correctly mounted on a Gallagher Ring Top Post or suitable metal rod up to 13mm in diameter, the mounting post forms the energiser’s earth connection. This removes the need to install and connect a separate portable earth lead.

The mounting post must make suitable contact with the soil for the earth system to work effectively. Dry or highly resistant soil may limit performance and require a different earthing arrangement.

Internal Lithium Battery and Solar Panel

The integrated solar panel charges the internal lithium iron phosphate battery during daylight. Smart digital control supports reliable operation and helps manage available battery power during low-light conditions.

Position the solar panel where it will receive direct sunlight throughout the day. In Australia, it should generally face north and remain clear of shade from trees, buildings and equipment.

Secure Post-Mounted Design

The post-mounting system keeps the energiser raised above wet ground and helps protect it from livestock. Elevating the panel also reduces the chance of surrounding grass blocking sunlight.

The Gallagher Ring Top Post or suitable mounting rod is not included unless specifically stated in the product package.
